Our approach to treatment

Our philosophy is that people do not fail at therapy, sometimes however therapy may fail people. It is your therapists job to understand, support and adapt their approach to your needs. We may use any of these approaches listed below or a blend of what will be best suited to your needs. Our clinical staff are continually enhancing their skills to support you with ongoing training and consultation.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

There is a reason why this well researched therapy is so ubiquitous in psychotherapy, because it works. Aside from the strong foundational knowledge our clinicians have in CBT, we also utilize other forms of this therapy. Many of our clinicians have participated in advanced training, such as Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-E). CBT is best for use with those with depression, anxiety, and binge eating disorders.

Emotion Focused family therapy (EFFT)

EFFT is based on attachments science. It was originally developed for caregivers supporting loved ones suffering from the devastating effects of anorexia. Using scripted approaches clients learn to emotion coach loved ones, letting go of old injuries through therapeutic apology and resolving fears on obstacles for loved one. This type of therapy is best for parents, caregivers and eating disorder recovery support persons.

Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)

This type of therapy focuses on building specific skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness and emotional regulation. Using a skills based approach, DBT allows clients to utilize their abilities outside of session with support of structured assignments outside session. DBT is best with those who are highly emotionally dysregulated and those who will complete homework outside of session.

family based therapy (FBT)

Unique to eating disorder treatment, fbt focuses on supports and structure in nourishing a loved one with an eating disorder. Comprising of 3 phases, this approach is effective in returning clients to a healthy weight. This includes family meal observation, parent empowerment, and a highly collaborative approach with therapists.

exposure response prevention (ERP)

This type of therapy focuses on regularly exposing clients to intentionally participate in anxiety causing situations. This can ultimatley eliminate avoidance or accommodating behaviors to heal the anxiety. ERP is best with those with anxiety that leads to avoiding specific situations and those suffering from OCD or body dysmorphic disorder.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy helps increased insight into your emotions and sense of self. We support your inner healer thru intention setting and integration sessions before and after each ketamine dose is taken. This treatment requires commitment to 3 sessions of therapy per week for 6 weeks.
